What it locks, and when
- Curfews. Lock an app on a schedule — at night, through the work day, on the days you choose.
- Daily caps. Give an app a set number of minutes a day. Once they're spent, it stays locked until tomorrow.
- Both, or always. Chain a curfew and a cap, so the app locks when either one fires — or lock it outright.
- Groups. Put your worst offenders together and rule them with one set of rules.
- Strict Mode. Seal your rules behind a cooldown, so loosening them stops working until the timer runs out.
Unlocks you earn
A locked app can ask for effort before it opens. You choose the gate:
- A wait — sit out a countdown.
- A phrase — type it out first.
- A math problem — solve it first.
- Pushups — prop the phone up and do the reps. The camera counts them on your device and records nothing.
Pricing
Sarge starts with a free trial, with every feature unlocked. After that, you keep it with a one-time lifetime unlock or a monthly subscription, bought through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region. The subscription renews each month until you cancel it in the store; the lifetime unlock never renews. The details are in the terms of use.
Privacy
Sarge has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers. Everything the app knows lives on your device, plus an optional backup in your own iCloud. The privacy policy goes through every permission the app asks for, and why.
